Street Hawker hit by BRT Bus while making an attempt to escape from KAI officials

A street hawker lost his life this afternoon while being chased by Kick Against Indiscipline officials along Ikorodu road in Maryland today. According to eyewitnesses, the KAI officials making an attempt to enforce the law, chased a man hawking along Maryland bridge. While trying to avoid them, he ran into a BRT bus and was knocked to the ground, he died instantly.

Angry hawkers and area boys armed with sticks & stones immediately descended to destroy all BRT buses in the area and riot in protest. The Army and police officers have since arrived to the area to restore order.

Court Dissolves 15-year Marriage After Wife Complained of Constant Abuse and Assault by Mother-in-law

A Lagos Island Customary Court on Wednesday dissolved the 15-year marriage between one Dapo A. and his wife, Titilayo, over constant abuse and assault by the latter’s mother-in-law.

The President of the court, Awos Awosola, ordered the dissolution of the marriage after concluding that the union had broken down irretrievably.

“The marriage between the two parties has broken beyond redemption. The marriage between the two is hereby dissolved with effect from today, June 29th,” Awosola ruled.

Bovi’s “Man on Fire” Comedy Tour in the UK was a Hit!

Bovi‘s live stand-up comedy show hit the UK in May – they did Birmingham, Manchester and London on 27, 29 and the Bank Holiday – 30 May.

Comedian KoloMan opened for Bovi on all legs, while Basketmouth hosted the event.

The one-man show was an hour and 30 minutes of non-stop stand up routine. The event was promoted by Cokobar.

President Buhari orders suspension of military action in Niger Delta for two weeks

In a bid to quell the unrest in the Niger Delta region by militants in recent times, President Buhari has ordered the military to suspend operations in the region for two weeks to create room for dialogue with militants. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, disclosed this at the handover ceremony of Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas to the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja, yesterday June 6th.

The mother of the 4-year-old boy who slipped into the gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday – which led to the animal being shot dead – has hit back against online critics who are criticizing her parenting.

Michelle Gregg defended herself in a now-deleted Facebook post, writing: "God protected my child until the authorities were able to get to him. My son is safe and was able to walk away with a concussion and a few scrapes... no broken bones or internal injuries."

Gregg continued, "As a society we are quick to judge how a parent could take their eyes off of their child and if anyone knows me I keep a tight watch on my kids. Accidents happen..."
