Justin Bieber faces new charges following an alleged "altercation" near his hometown of Stratford in Canada.
Authorities said the singer was arrested on Friday after a collision between an ATV and a minivan.
The driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan "engaged in a physical altercation", Ontario Provincial Police said.
No details were provided, although police said no-one was hurt in the collision.
Bieber, 20, was released from custody on condition he appears in court on September 29.
The pop star had been photographed recently in southwestern Ontario riding on an ATV with actress and singer Selena Gomez.
His arrest on Friday was the latest in a series of run-ins with the law.
The Boyfriend singer avoided jail last month by agreeing to a plea deal over what police initially called an illegal street race in Miami Beach.
Bieber is also charged in Toronto with assaulting a limousine driver in late December. He denies the allegation.
In July, he was ordered to pay $80,000 (£47,000) in damages and to have anger management sessions after he admitted pelting his neighbour's house in Calabasas, California, with eggs.
Bieber is also being sued by a photographer who claims he was accosted by him while taking pictures in Miami.
