Joan Rivers gets a Grammy nomination

The Grammy nominations have been rolling out all day, covering numerous categories from Latin to pop and reggae to rock.
The best spoken word album category often includes some interesting nominees. This year is no different. Joan Rivers has gotten a posthumous nod for her book, Diary of a Mad Diva.

Rivers' book, which came out in July, skewers no less than 135 celebrities.

"Just jokes, silly jokes," she told USA TODAY at the time.

Rivers died on Sept. 4 in New York City.

The nominations include poetry, audio books and storytelling, and cover a range of subjects.

The nominees for the final category, album of the year, will be revealed Friday night during A Very Grammy Christmas, a one-hour special featuring performances from Williams, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5 and Tim McGraw (CBS, 9 p.m. ET/PT). LL Cool Jreturns as host of the show, which was taped Nov. 18 at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.

The Grammys air live on Feb. 8.
