Is It Right For A Non-Virgin To Wear White Gown For Church Wedding?

I have heard that a white dress symbolizes purity (virginity), I also heard that in some cultures the veil does symbolize virginity. But now I'm confused? Is it right for a girl that is not a virgin to wear a white gown for her church wedding? What, really, does a white wedding dress symbolize?
