A woman identified as Hajiya Bilkisu Mahmoud on Monday slumped and died after waiting for several hours to see the Niger State Governor, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, in his office.
The 46-year-old woman was said to have waited for some hours to see the governor but suddenly slumped about three minutes after she was ushered into the governor’s office.
She was immediately rushed to the Minna General Hospital in a Government House Ambulance where doctors confirmed her dead.
The late Bilkisu, who was a former Staff Officer to the Deputy Governor was said to be suffering from asthma until her death.
According to Government House, Minna sources, the deceased was on a private visit to the governor as her name was not among the names on the protocol list to see the governor on Monday.
The late Bilkisu, a mother of three children, until her death was a staff of the State Emergency Management Agency.
There is no official statement from the government as of the time of filling this report but the governor was said to have hurriedly left his office after the incident.
