The Spurs and Cavaliers played a thriller in Cleveland Wednesday night, and the game went down to the final possession – which ended with a rare blunder from LeBron James.
Manu Ginobili went to the free throw line in the final minute and missed his second shot, giving the Cavs a chance to tie or win down 92-90. Anderson Varejao snagged the rebound and quickly handed the ball off to James, who started running up the court with 8.4 seconds left.
James, who had plenty of time to get to the basket, was quickly pressured by Manu Ginobili. LeBron dribbled the ball behind his back but lost control as he was charging up the court, and the ball bounced off Tim Duncan. The Spurs gained control and Ginobili hoisted the ball high into the air to burn the clock – and Cleveland lost without attempting a final shot.
